"I tell myself, 'I’m not in charge of the flow of the universe.' And it helps to ground me again. Though I have control of the direction in which I’m trying to steer my life in, I’m not the sole author of my story. My life is still up to the changes and shifts of the universe. And I have to learn to accept that. I have to let go of control."

Oooff, this was exactly what I needed to hear, what I needed to be reminded of. And that scene--I had forgotten all about it but WOW! It's all so true and so wild and so random. Why we worry about anything is a mystery when so much is outside of our control (this coming from a person who very much worries about everything--thanks anxious brain!).

I think it's fair that we worry. Life likes to throw some curve balls sometimes, and it's human nature to want to avoid pain and to want to be prepared for it. But from everything I've been learning and reading, trying to avoid pain is where all our troubles begin. It's like that meme audio that goes "We can't go over it, we can't go under it, we can't go around it, we've got to go through it!" Letting go of wanting to have control is hard, so we should give ourselves grace. We're doing our best. <3

I think you're psychic. Talk about a well-timed message from our all-knowing Universe. Breathing through the delays and, dare I say, taking a moment to appreciate that extra bit of sunshine is the best way to introduce ease into the flow.

I'm glad to hear this came at the right time! Appreciating that extra bit of sunshine is so relevant for me this time of year. Nothing makes you appreciate the sun more than having it set at 4:30pm.

No joke! On a very practical level. I read somewhere that waking up an hour earlier is supposed to help this time of year. I've been prone to seasonal affective disorder in the past. I don't understand the science, but it's helped me immensely. And we get 15 more minutes of sunshine starting later this week. Bam!
